They’re Good, They’re Little and They’re Sausage-y

An innovative new Northern Ireland food company is excited about the launch of a truly unique sausage product in the market. The Good Little Company makes tasty food that’s good for you (and good for others) and their first amazing product is Good Little Sausages. These healthy, wholesome chipolata sausages are made with 85% outdoor bred British pork, reduced fat, no preservatives and no artificial nasties. Perfect for kids and families.

The Good Little Company are a fab team of mums, dads, aunts and uncles who care about feeding their family food that is good for them and so created the Good Little Sausages. They’re so proud of the sausages that they are the first sausage brand in Northern Ireland to sign up to the Northern Ireland Food Standards Agency front of pack nutritional signposting ‘Traffic Light’ scheme. Sharon Gilmore, from the Dietary Health Unit of FSA NI said,

“We are pleased that The Good Little Company has joined the growing number of companies in NI who display traffic lights on their labels. It is excellent news for consumers that companies like GLC are helping busy shoppers make healthy informed choices ‘at a glance’.”

Not only are the sausages good for you but they are good for others. Good Little Company are proud to partner with Christian Aid to help some of the world’s poorest families feed themselves. 5p donated from the sale of every pack gives a family the means to grow their own crops, which will provide one person with at least one staple meal every day for two weeks. Not bad eh! Deborah Doherty, Church and Community Manager for Christian Aid Ireland said,

“We are really excited to work with the Good Little Company on this initiative. It is a small but significant step to try and make a real difference in the lives of the poorest of the poor.”

The team is over the moon that TESCO Northern Ireland is launching the product this week. Steven Murphy, Buying Manager for TESCO NI regional office said,

“We are delighted that our customers can buy this innovative, reduced fat, preservative free locally sourced product at 20 TESCO stores across NI from this week”

On Friday 24th and Saturday 25th April, The Good Little Company visited TESCO stores in Bentrim Road Lisburn, Newtownbreda, Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey to give away 6000 free packs of sausages, talk to customers and get people to try this fantastic new product. Emma Curistan from the Good Little Company said,

“We want to get this product in front of as many people as possible. We know that when someone tries this product they’ll love it, their families will love it and more importantly someone less well off will love it.”

The Good Little Sausages are on special introductory price of £1.99 for 360g (normally £2.49) and available in 20 selected TESCO stores in Northern Ireland. The sausages are already turning heads as they recently won a High Commended Award for best new product for a small business at the Northern Ireland Food & Drink Awards (NI Food Oscars). The Good Little Company will be exhibiting at this year’s Balmoral Show in the Food Pavilion tent where they will be having tastings and special offers for the Good Little Sausages.
