YOU may remember the film with Mel Gibson where he could read women’s minds- well Women in Business and Grafton Recruitment have taken this a step further by reacting to the demands of female job seekers and entrepreneurs by providing an innovative and interactive workshop to help women into work. Knowing yourself and successfully replicating those skills and experience on a CV or at an interview can be challenging. The event, held in Ten Square Belfast, is part of series of CV and interview masterclasses organised by Women into Business with Grafton and helps to overcome barriers, build confidence and provides practical guidance on the “do’s and don’ts” of the recruitment process from both the job seeker and client perspective.
Cara Hart, an Occupational Psychologist with Grafton, provided an insight into the various selection methods and interview techniques, “ With almost 50 women attending, it shows that Grafton and Women into Business were reading people’s minds when we set up this initiative as it has proven to be a fantastic success. It provides a hands-on opportunity to understand the process of recruitment, enhance and tailor a CV and also how to prepare for interview”.
Grafton Recruitment are working in partnership with Women into Business to deliver employability programmes that will provide support, advice and insights into recruitment. “This event is part of a series which also offers the unique opportunity to do “mock interviews”. For Grafton, it is not just about recruitment -to us it is about helping individuals, enhancing their capability and building communities and we are delighted to work with Women into Business to achieve this aim”, comments Gale Sergeant, CSR manager, Grafton Recruitment.
Eva Garland, Marketing Co-ordinator for Women into Business describes the programme “Women into Business is a very customer focused and flexible support programme which is free and has been set up to help support those who are economically inactive to either enter employment or self –employment. To benefit from the fantastic activities on offer such as free seminars and mock interview sessions, which are offered in conjunction with Grafton all you need to do is register on the website and become a member”.
The Women into Business Programme is funded by DEL, Invest NI and the European Social Fund.
