YFCU MEMBERS INVITED TO ATTEND ‘THE NEXT GENERATION’ FOOD EVENING

YOUNG farmers are invited to attend the Agri Food - The Next Generation evening on Wednesday 9th March 2011, 7.30pm at CAFRE Loughry campus.

The focus of the event is aimed at the next generation of the food industry and is being hosted by the NI Food & Drink Association’s Outlook Forum.  This is an opportunity for young farmers, processors, retailers and food service representatives who are the future industry leaders and innovators to come together with industry veterans and discuss the future of the industry.

Whatever your outlook, the forum aims to provide you with ‘food for thought’. It is a chance to discuss where industry is going and answer some pressing questions such as what are the challenges facing the current food industry.

By coming to this event, you will have the opportunity to network with industry ‘veterans’, meet other young people from the agri-food industry, share ideas and learning and influence the future direction of the industry.  The aim of this event is to encourage discussion and debate, which is why a large proportion of the event has been dedicated to just that.  The format of the evening will involved workshops with several groups made up of representatives from across the supply chain.  Each group will be facilitated by a senior industry representative and the topic for each group will be focused on a specific industry sector.

The topics will be determined by delegate interest with delegates stating their preferred sector when they book their place (possible topics include: red meat, dairy, horticulture and white meat). To book your place please email Joan Sherman joan@nifda.co.uk or telephone 028 9024 1010.
