WILLOWBROOK FOODS REACHES FINAL OF NATIONAL FOOD MANUFACTURING AWARDS
Willowbrook Foods has been named among the UK’s best food and drink manufacturers after reaching the final of the industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.
The company, which is Ireland’s leading grower and grower of salads, vegetables and mash potato & veg, was named among the finalists in the highly contested Fresh Produce category at the prestigious Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2011, which took place at London’s Park Plaza Riverbank on Tuesday, November 8th.
Willowbrook Foods was congratulated on achieving the very highest standards in food and drink manufacturing during a gala awards evening hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis.
The judges were particularly impressed with how Willowbrook Foods’ outstanding growth has been driven by it’s tailored yet flexible approach to meet it’s customers needs. The company has continued to invest in process and people. Willowbrook Foods have an understanding of their customers’ current needs and work with them to identify future gaps. Price, quality, service and innovation are key to future business growth – the company recently opened it’s Food Innovation Centre in Killinchy where they work directly with customers and suppliers developing products for their markets.
The annual Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards, run by Food Manufacture magazine, are the premier event in the UK food manufacturing calendar.
Rick Pendrous, Editor of Food Manufacture, said: “The Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards recognise and reward the UK’s very best food and drink manufacturing companies of which Willowbrook Foods is clearly one. We congratulate them on achieving the very highest standards in a very challenging market.”
