The Cookstown business was founded in 1937 in Cookstown, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland and became a part of VION Food Group in 2008.  Thefactory currently employs over 600 people and is one of the largestemployers in the Mid Ulster area.
The Cookstown brand products are  the company’s best known and"Cookstown Sizzle" is our best known strap line and has been used since 1968 when a young George Best was the brands spokesman. Over the last 2 years we have re-launched the Cookstown brand with striking new pack colours and graphics that deliver a bright on shelf presence, as well as heavy weight TV campaigns, investment in social media and a brandnew website.
Our other well known brand is McGee’s butchers, an idea that started with an independent butcher (Joe McGee) when he explored the concept of offering his quality products on a concession stand through ASDA. It started with one store and was soon expanded to all stores, such was the success of the concept.
