Millar Savoury Foods (MSF) Ltd is a family owned and managed business, established in 1969 by Robert Millar when he opened a butcher's shop in Londonderry/Derry. By 1975 a further butcher's shop and two supermarket counters had also been added to the company's business interests.
Hazlett Millar joined the family business in 1972 seizing the opportunity to expand the business and produce a range of sausages and beef burgers from the company's current Eglinton Site. In 1988, the company's product offering was bolstered when Hazlett took over a small pie business. Hazlett took the reins of the business in 2002 and his two sons Clarke and Robert joined the business in 1989 and 1991 respectively. Clarke is Commercial Director and Robert is Production Director.
In 2007, Millar Savoury Foods launched two new brands, which Millar Savoury Foods own trademarks to. They are Mulligan's Munchers and Millfarm. Both these brands are packed in a protective atmosphere to give extra shelf life.
The company's head office and production facilities are located 10 miles east of Londonderry near the village of Eglinton, close to the City of Derry Airport. The company's range of sausages, burgers, pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs and cottage pies are shipped to central distribution centres or direct to smaller retail outlets using the company's own fleet of vans. The company has a distribution facility at Mallusk to directly service retailers in the Greater Belfast area with daily deliveries fresh from the Eglinton site.
Today, Millar Savoury Foods has established a reputation for taste, quality and value; providing a wide range of unique Millar Savoury Foods recipes to both the retail and catering sectors supplying large multiple retailers and wholesalers.
Millar Savoury Food's vision is to be a supplier and distributor of wholesome, tasty, traditionally cooked foods for the multiple, independent retail and food service sectors in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.
